Phone Number Reverse Lookup Directories

September 24th, 2008

Telephone companies are supposed to protect this information, according to the FCC. They can’t give it out without your approval. Telephone and cell phone records from a Phone Number Reverse Lookup are used by a wide spectrum of people and businesses. The majority of searches of these phone records are by investigators from insurance companies, bail and collection agents, public agencies and of course suspicious partners.

Consumers may use personal software, professional services, or old-fashioned pencil and paper. Either way you can bet there is a fraudster ready with a scam. Consumers Union wants Congress to take a hard stance against this practice. Congress should make it illegal for anyone to buy or sell your phone records or pretend to be you in order to access those records and other private information your cell phone company may have.
